At the heart of Healing Home Group is a simple but powerful truth: even in our darkest moments, a light still burns within us. For burn survivors, that light may flicker, dim, or even feel lost — but it is never truly extinguished. We call that light the Everlight.
The Everlight is more than just a symbol. It is a promise. A promise that healing is possible. That survivors are not forgotten. And that love, community, and hope will always have a home here.
The Everlight was born from the personal journey of our founder, Corey Halstead, who survived a devastating car fire in April 2024. After months in the hospital, he was told to go to a homeless shelter — a place unfit for his medical needs. In that moment of pain, fear, and abandonment, he still carried something no one could take away: the light inside him.
That light sparked a vision. A place where survivors could heal in safety and dignity. A place where the fire didn’t end the story — it began a new one.
Every Healing Home will feature a permanent light installation — a soft, glowing beacon that is never turned off. It will shine:
The Everlight is a symbol of resilience, belonging, and the unbreakable spirit that lives within us all.
In the near future, supporters will be invited to dedicate an Everlight in honor or memory of someone special — a survivor, a loved one, a nurse, a firefighter, or anyone who helped carry the light during dark times. Their names will be displayed in our Healing Home and honored as part of our living legacy.
The Everlight will also become part of our home culture:
The photo below was taken just days after the fire. It’s hard to look at — and even harder to live through. But this is the truth of what burn survivors endure. This is where Healing Home Group was born.
From that bed, in that moment, the Everlight was lit. It was the first spark of hope when everything else felt lost.
We share it here not to shock you — but to show you what it means to rise.
In a world that often forgets survivors once the headlines fade, we choose to remember.
We choose to honor.
We choose to keep the light on — always.
Welcome to the Everlight.
Welcome home.
